Respect for the Plant
With the vision of making the hemp plant’s diverse applications accessible to as many people as possible, hemp producer Claudio Buholzer and chemist Dr. Jebril Hadi (University of Bern) founded Alplant GmbH in 2016. The two recognized the potential of the hemp plant early on and have been conducting research and development on cannabinoids and extracts for many years.
IG Hanf
This commitment to the cannabis plant also led Claudio Buholzer to launch and co-found the IG Hanf interest group. Today, IG Hanf has over 60 members and promotes networking and collaboration within the industry. In addition, IG Hanf is the Swiss hemp association recognized by the FOPH (Federal Office of Public Health); it coordinates cooperation with the authorities and advocates for regulation at the legislative level.

The journey begins here...
Here at Alplant, the cannabis plant has always been a part of our lives. This wonderful and polarizing plant has always fascinated us with its beauty and its diverse applications in medicine, therapy, manufacturing, nutrition, fashion, as well as in music, photography, and film.
In this decade, the cannabis plant will regain its rightful place in our world as a medicinal plant and as a unique raw material from which so many helpful products can be made. Together, we can help ensure that cannabis is once again recognized for what it is.
Our company was among the first handful of Swiss companies to register their CBD business with the Swiss Ministry of Health and subsequently became a leader in the Swiss CBD industry. Its founder, Claudio Buholzer, is a lifelong grower and entrepreneur in the cannabis industry, alongside his co-founder, Jebril Hadi.
The two enthusiasts founded Alplant in 2016 to meet the needs of the ever-growing market. Claudio recognized the need for an organization to unite the many companies in the Swiss CBD industry through the founding of the Swiss Hemp Association (IG Hanf), where he served as president.
Alplant is the market leader in Swiss outdoor and greenhouse flower production, with an additional fully automated indoor facility equipped with 500 lamps. Alplant has been named the winner of the Canna Swiss Cup —a competition organized by Europe’s oldest trade show, the venerable CannaTrade—by an independent jury on several occasions.
When you buy from Alplant, you’re purchasing CBD products of exceptionally high quality—but what you’re really getting is peace of mind. Alplant is Switzerland’s first vertically integrated manufacturer. We manage every step of the process, from seed to shelf. You’re choosing a supplier that breeds, grows, harvests, extracts, analyzes, and packages.
As an Alplant customer, you also support our principles of organic farming and sustainable economic growth. Although Switzerland has many favorable laws that support the growth, distribution, and consumption of “cannabis light,” this has not always been the case.
It has been a long journey to show politicians and government officials the positive aspects of cannabis. But the hard work has paid off. The good news is that we are seeing improvements in cannabis regulation at all levels across Europe.
We are seeing these improvements thanks to dedicated and fearless leaders like you, who never give up and are committed to ensuring that cannabis remains a lifelong part of our new world. You deserve our respect and gratitude. Let’s continue this journey together.
